Who else can do the Special Forces mission that the article describes? Did you read the article?
If you think the Special Forces are only commandos that conduct raids and reconnaissance like the SEALs and Rangers, then you are just ignorant, they have a much more complicated mission, including working to keep the American military from having to fight.
If you respect the military, then try to learn something about it, it is far more than your cliches and simple minded raging inaccurately describe.
And why are you raging and frothing at the mouth anyway?
That’s why we need a Department of War instead of a Department of Defense!
Yes, I did read the article.
“Since those first months, succeeding elements of Green Berets have led the way in pushing back the Taliban insurgents and establishing Afghan forces sufficient to carry the fight into the future. As Operation Enduring Freedom ends and U.S. forces draw down, the Green Berets will continue to bolster the Afghan forces.”
The US military did their best to take out the Taliban, but the Taliban are doing very, very well for themselves these days.

What our SF guys did was for nothing but a hollow victory.
It sure would be nice if our military was committed to winning wars and conflicts.
But I guess it’s better to bribe the enemy than to spend that money on war fighting them.
