A Memphis man has been charged with theft of property after driving away with a truck full of 7,500 pairs of the newest LeBron 12 Nike shoes with a retail value of approximately $1.5 million.

In early November, police say Charles Jennings, an employee of cargo transportation company Intermodal Cartage Group, used his ID card to get into a secure lot and drive away with the valuable shoes.

Are the customers spending $200 from their EBT cards to buy a pair of shoes? ....I just don’t understand their mindsets.

Also... How many purchasers will soon be killed or beaten so someone can steal their shoes?

They should start labeling these kinds of shipments as work boots to lower the chance of theft.

Taxpayers are also “on the hook” for storing the evidence before trial. :-/

I remember mom buying us tennis shoes out of a big bin at the local supermarket. I think they were $1.99 and you had to dig through to find the size you need.

Ditto that.

I had to save my pennies in order to buy my first pair of name brand "sneakers"...

The AirJordan's/LeBron's of the day...Chuck Taylor high top 4 star (they had to be 4 star!) WHITE Converse.

$5.25 was a big deal for me when I had no way to generate an income. It did motivate me later in life to look at ways to generate my own income and not be dependent on any other human for income.
