My wife’s sister lives in southern Missouri.
When we visited, I was surprised at the amount of poverty.
Very similar to sections of Ky and WVa.

My comment was not to minimize the plight of anyone, hell my newest vehicle is 14 years old, I am simply saying that there are people all over who drive cars in a similar state of existence.

I live in Southern MO, and it is indeed quite poor. The employers in the area know this and take full advantage of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm no Occupier by any means, but of all the places I've lived and worked in across the US, Missouri has about the worst conditions I've seen for the average working joe.

And it's about to get a lot worse when the next flood of illegals to hit the area. Local factories and food processing plants snap them up the quickest and then 'sponsor' them so they don't get deported.

Sorry, rant off. Good on that waitress, everybody down here could use a break sometimes. Be sure to claim it as a gift, so it won't get taxed.

About 40 years ago I visited my aunt and uncle in Springdale Arkansas. My cousins got me in the car and we went on a back road trip up into the Ozarks. It looked like Deliveramce up there. I’ve been back there quite a few times since then and it’s better but you get on some of the back roads and it’s still visible.
