i had homewrk in 2nd grade. usually handwriting stuff. i had homework in elementary school. didn’t spend hours a night doing it.

what i didn’t have is the internet, my own smartphone, managed play schedules, and unlimited tv time.

i also had teachers who taught properly using effective methods. and was not indoctrinated by pc bullcrap. i played kickball, dodge ball, drew war battles at school doodling, had a pocketknife with me, and had snowball fights and where the playground was plowed, played king of the mountain. none of us were on ritalin.

The homework you had is different from what I had, and the homework I had is far different from what kids are doing these days. I look at a Common Core question and I want to crawl under a rock. I’m not an idiot but damn, just looking at those questions make my IQ drop.
