+ - Replacement team. * - Teams have accepted bid. One member of the Group of Five (American Athletic Conference, MAC, Mountain West, Conference-USA and Sun Belt) will be selected to play in the Cotton, Fiesta or Peach Bowl. If Army is bowl-eligible, it will play in the Armed Forces Bowl. If Navy is bowl-eligible, it will play in the Poinsettia Bowl. If BYU is bowl-eligible, it will play in the Miami Beach Bowl.
TCU or Baylor got screwed. I think TCU had the best resume, but Baylor edged TCU head-to-head. Minnesota was the only common opponent for TCU and Ohio State, and TCU rolled over Minnesota, whereas OSU only won by seven.
I agree. I think TCU is the #1 team. But these polls have never been fair.
With only four spots open, someone had to get the short end of the stick this year.
It probably will work out better most years.
Eventually there will only be four conferences, so that problem will be taken care of.
Some relatives and I had planned to go to State’s game but Miami is too far from here. Was thinking about flying but my niece can not afford that. Hail State.
What, no Cocoa Puffs Bowl? I’m disappointed...
Penn St vs. Boston College in NY City on Dec 26? Who thought that that would be a good idea?
What, no Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl in San Franfreako?
It will be interesting to see how Florida will approach their bowl game, with a group of coaches who probably won’t be back. I’d like to without Muschamp’s meddling how they would have looked.
I like the Texas-Arkansas matchup.
I just wonder if Baylor or TCU really is going to care about their bowl games.
I actually think Florida State is the weakest one of the top 6 but then, how can you not include the defending national champions who went undefeated?
You can’t. It was silly to even suggest they wouldn’t get in.
By the way.....
Roll Tide!
Quack!
When’s the last time the ol’ ball coach played against Miami?
Thanks for posting. Interesting.
They should have a “Cereal Bowl” played in Battle Creek, Michigan. Or, how about a Toilet Bowl pitting the 2 worst teams in college football against each other. That could draw a circus-freak type audience.
I don’t believe Florida played Miami while Spurrier was there.
BUMP
(Roll Tide)
Once again, my home town Huskies will get a spot in the “I Don’t Give a Damn” bowl. But it’s still nice to have one more game.
Ahh 2000 Sugar Bowl, Miami won 37-20.
Didn’t Spurrier play against Miami?
Darn it!!! That whole undefeated thingy again...Why doesn’t FSU realize that they aren’t that good and just lose some games. It would make me feel good...
