I like the four team playoff. Was hoping this was the solution for several years. The team that argue for being the 4th team have basically zero chance of winning. There is not a year in my lifetime where more than two to three teams have a real argument for being a champion. The best team is either Alabama, FSU, or Oregon. Everyone else is a 2nd tier team. This structure made every Saturday of the entire season do or die. Alabama conquored a very deep SEC. Oregon is the class of the west. FSU hasn’t lost since Obamas first term ended. OSU,TCU, Baylor and probably all have a legit argument to be the 4th team, but I don’t see any winning two games in the tourney. One game, quite possibly.
the ncaa bball Toumey is a wonderful event but it makes the regular season games marginally important. The beauty of college football is that every game matters, and I personally want to keep it that way. I watched more Saturday games this year than probably ever before because the playoff race basically began in September.
Somebody gets screwed no matter what.. Heck even with a 65 team field in the NCAA Basketball tournament some team winds up whining about being left out.
