According to the leading expert in psychopathy, Dr. Robert Hare, who wrote, "Without Conscience" the words sociopath and psychopath mean the same thing.

I have come to know that when I speak of a sociopath people seem to listen better than when I use the word psychopath, for whatever reason. So, they may only differ in degree in the minds of people.

But, they are both the same thing.

Eh, you know the APA has to be progressive, eventually reporting that anything goes, no more rules (because we both know Satan will rule), throw out the definitions (all abnormality will be normal except the Golden Standard or the Law of God) and life will be as safe for the widows and orphans and strangers as it was in Sodom and Gomorrah.

I personally have not read the APA 5 definitions but just to keep myself up to the speed of degradation of our international sociological and psychological world I found a good article revealing the “newest” definitions (actually from psychtoday)...
