Rush is lamenting on air how the ChiComs have surpassed the USA in GDP, we're now no. 2. Well Rush, as one of the BIGGEST proponents of "Free Trade" and off shoring YOU ARE BEING HYPOCRITICAL. Sorry I call them as I see them
The big myth is that manufacturing overseas saves SO much per unit cost. Well it doesn’t. It “saves” only a few pennies on the dollar, where the social costs cost BILLIONS....
***** ** ?
He doesn't "Champion" of "off shoring". You missed. He understands it. Economically speaking, it makes sense for major businesses and manufacturers to move operations to more affordable business climates. That IS free enterprise and capitalism.
I work in a factory. In a small town. So take your crybaby, hand-winging stuff elsewhere.
“Didnt tariffs cause the Great Depression?”
No. That’s the liberal’s excuse to try to stave off their foreign trade investments.
The Great Depression never needed to happen but government caused it through irresponsible spending and taxation and regulation.
Really? What do they make?
“That alone makes him a hypocrite in the eyes of many conservatives”
Many conservatives are hypocrites themselves. Divorce isn’t only a liberal activity.
I have, and it isn’t because of Rush.
It’s because of:
1.) Greedy unions
2.) Government regulations and taxes
I agree with you. Limbaugh in his early days drank GALLONS of the Bush/RINO/GOP-e Koolaide and vomited it all over his radio show.
If it moves, tax it.
If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
--Ronald Reagan
Not accurate. We currently have the highest GDP per individual country. But, sure Rush is a NAFTA, GATT, etc supporter. Though part of those trade deals have caused even more illegal immigration problems and further wage arbitrage toward US wages and salaries.
Do you know the current union participation rate for US workers in general and for manufacturing in particular?
I don’t think Rush is faulting the ChiComs for having a strong economy - that is only fair under capitalism (but please note the irony of China being a communist dictatorship with the fastest growing number of millionaires in the world - a fact that is hopefully making Marx spin in his grave at Highgate Cemetery in London.)
I believe Rush is lamenting that this do-nothing, know-nothing Administration has done nothing to stimulate our economy and everything to hamstring it, through the avalanche of regulations, massive federal spending on welfare programs and increased taxation schemes like Obamacare. China is eating our lunch because they become more capitalist as we become more socialist.
In addition, we must note that China has been ripping us off through industrial espionage, computer hacking and reverse engineering our technology with no respect for intellectual property rights - and Obama does nothing.
That’s why Rush is mad - he’s no hypocrite.
Then it should be easy to reduce our tax and regulatory burden more than that "a few pennies on the dollar", to tilt the balance back in our favor.
The trick is smaller government, not even more government.
Why do you care?
Rush writes books on the founding of the USA but somehow misses that ALL founding fathers with few exception were PROTECTIONIST to the nth degree.
Reporting economic truth through facts has everything to do with economics. It has nothing to do with hypocrisy.
Your right I don’t care about you. At all.
So there are no “costs” to off shoring? It is all good right?
