Corn is several times the price it was just a decade ago, thanks to mandated Ethanol requirements.
I call BS, this is all about cost, which is why they went from sugar to corn syrup in the first place.

(They told me it could never happen in America. And then it did....)

True, but why not take the marketing advantage and tell the consumer it’s all about them?

Costs are why Hershey went to Messico, IIRC.

If I have to eat it, I prefer sugar anyway. Up until I tried Mexican Cokes made with sugar instead of corn syrup, I believed what I read about there being no difference between the two. Now I know that there is.

“this is all about cost”
Of course, but if you can con a demonstrably gullible segment of the population into thinking you did it to please them, then why not?

true, but who not take the marketing advantage and tell the consumer it's all about themThe situation is improving. Reeses Peanut Butter Cups and some (not all) Russell Stowe candies have removed the poison. There are some foreign candies that use real sugar. Ice Cream is still just about impossible.
Be assured, once corporate America removes HFCS, they'll find something equally disgusting to poison us with.

My read on it is that since our neighbors don’t have to contend with the insane sugar tariffs that we have in this country, all of your future Hershey Bars will be coming from Mexico.

Mexico, which does not have the U.S. sugar tariff.
Most popular candy bars don't use HFCS anyway. Heck, Hershey had to half back off from their reduction in the use of cocoa butter in a number of products, after Mars jumped all over them for it.

I don't know. It seems that Breyer's Vanilla and Strawberry are still okay.

Thanks for the post. On a side note, just what is “natural flavor”? You know arsenic is “natural”, that is, a substance found in nature.

I actually paid a visit to The Creamery last summer.
Good thing I didn’t go to Penn State, I would have gained 60 pounds there.

I hope people don’t think this will somehow have it healthier because sugar will do the same thing as HFCS, only less efficiently. The body processes it the same. The human body is designed to process fats and oils but not sugars other than in fruits, grains and vegetables. The price will go up and people will still be fat because they eat too much sugar and carbs.

Soft drink companies need to go back to real sugar too, I bet obesity in the country would decline if they did
