She’s about eight years older than me and we were married thirty-five years in September.
Feminism?
I want to be with a woman with the age difference equal to Hugh Hefner and his latest “spouse”. The only problem I see is that she hasn’t been born yet...
Not getting married is a good predictor for not getting a divorce.

American women? They know the system and how to get the payoff. Of course.
Mr R and I are the same age, he is 8 days older than me (same year, same hospital, same substitute obgyn delivered us). We are going on 19 years next month.
My wife is 7 years younger. We have been married 22 years.
So if my wife dies, and I marry some 18 year old chick who would be about 50 years my junior we are almost guaranteed to stay together because:
1. She would benefit from my years of experience and my assets.
2. She would only have to put up with me for about ten years before I crump.
I call this the Anna Nicole Smith syndrome.
Six month difference, 33 years married.
My wife is five years older and have been married more than 12 years.
My wife is 7 years younger than I am. We’ve been married for 55 years.
Same, but it lasted only 7 years.
Try the study with subjects who don’t have the following.

Can’t be. It is well known that the age formula for a man’s ideal wife is: half your age + 7 years.
So, if you are 40, you should be on the lookout for 27 year old women.
My wife and I are nearly the same age. I’m just a few days older. I think the chart makes sense. When someone is significantly younger it tends to mean that one partner will be significantly older at some point. I imagine that looking at the numbers you would find that the likelihood of divorce increases not just with the years separating but also when the older of the pair reaches a certain point where the age is really showing and is inhibiting the relationship. We had a friend marry a significantly older gentleman after a failed marriage. She was seeking stability but now their marriage is failing as he is looking to retire and she is now just beginning to find her stride.
Wife is 8 months older. 38 years next month.
I am 13 years older than my wife. We will also be celebrating our nineteenth anniversary next month.
Interesting. I’m 47 and tend to like men 39-43. Don’t know if that is a result of people assuming I’m 39-43 as well. Personally, I believe regardless of age difference, you have to work at a marriage. I know people with 10-15 year differences and they have great marriages. Conversely, my ex was less than 2 yr diff and we didn’t work out.
