Shatner is apparently smart about money, reportedly doing the early priceline commercials for stock in the company in lieu of cash, and wound up with many millions from that. Some apparently question how much he really made on that deal, however, if you look at priceline now, it's market cap is over $60 billion with a B, leaving room for many to make a lot of money on it over the years. It's up well over 400% in the past 5 years, however it's 95% owned by institutional investors.
