Well consider this. The airplane was definitely the top invention of 1903. Yet you couldn't buy one, nobody (other than the inventors) ever used one and the specs were virtually unknown. In fact, most people thought it was a hoax and that it was impossible for such a contraption to get off the ground.
Don't overlook the Apple iWatch. WithIn a couple years, they are going to be selling hundreds of millions of these. They really do have the potential to shake up the tech industry, just like the iPod, iPhone and iPad before it.
People laugh at the iWatch because they mistakenly think it's about telling the time. Well most people own iPhones not because it can make a phone call but for all the other things that it does.
Having your data wearable and always on demand will be the main selling futures.
Look for it to move away from the wrist however. Most people will be wearing it on a necklace and eventually will have it surgically implanted on their body. It sounds creepy today but that is where we are headed.
The Wright Flyer was the first heavier than air craft.
The Apple Watch is not the first smartwatch.
