That problem is usually solved in a competitive market by raising the cost of services.
However if this minimum wage increase applies only to Seattle, nearby business on the outskirts of Seattle won't have to raise prices and the Seattle businesses are at a disadvantage. -Tom
Exactly. San Francisco has raised its minimum wage to $15, also, to go up incrementally to that over three years. I already know I will be switching from the San Francisco Costco and Safeway (grocery stores) to neighboring Daly City. Also any fast food purchases I make, which are only maybe once a month anyway. No coffee purchases in the city, either. Gas, outside San Francisco. Clothing. Because the prices are going to get substantially higher and my income is NOT going up.
