She's an English singer with a nice, smoky sounding voice. She's a big gal but wears it well. Pretty real, refreshing given all the artifice and auto-tune fakery in the music industry of today.
She credited Sarah Palin for launching her career and has said good things about her as well as Margaret Thatcher so she's not too big of a leftie. Her American debut was on SNL the same night Palin appeared.
If you want to hear two of her more popular songs, go to YouTube and look for Chasing Pavements and Rolling In The Deep.
I’d only heard a couple of her tunes on the radio, quite pop, but a cut above. Did not really give her another thought until I was channel surfing one day, and stopped when I saw her belting out those pop tunes with nothing but a single acoustic guitar as accompaniment (occasionally joined by a pisno player).
Not really my style, but I give her tremendous props for stripping down those pop songs like that. She is the real deal (whether she chooses to sing another note or not).
