That first sentence frosts my hide.
There is a long list of women* who have amassed personal fortunes by divorcing rich husbands and as far as I can tell, they deserved every penny.
What it tells me is that the author sees latching on to a wealthy man with a view to divorcing him later as a viable and worthy method for a woman to acquire wealth.
It's no wonder that many men are shying away from marriage these days.
That said, any wealthy man who would dump a loyal first wife in order to acquire a "trophy" wife is a fool. Sometimes men allow their vanity and stupidity to set themselves up for a fall.
