In old totalitarian school textbooks they wrote that light bulb was invented by Edison, and he used carbon filament. Russian engineer Lodygin made light bulb with tungsten filament. They asserted that first plane was invented by Wright brothers if my sclerosis does not betray me. Mozhaiski made first Russian airplane according to Soviet Encyclopedia. Also they did not assert it was Tsar Ivan the Terrible who discovered Roentgen rays.

Yep, I actually kept a Soviet Encyclopedia in my library and went to check out. Surprisingly, it mentions both Wrights and Edison for airplane and light bulb.
