Oh. A lot of that will change...at night...when personally threatened...on their own property. People react differently often in such a situation.

If I was in the greater-Ferguson vicinity the last thing that I would do is go popping-off rounds down my street to defend some neighbor's house whom I hardly even know. My plan would be to sit tight, stay indoors, and remain extremely vigilant for me and mine.

You want to know why? Because I have beloved family, a good job, a valuable home, significant assets, and important possessions. There are very, very, very, very, very FEW people in positions of authority who would rise to support decent and honest people like us in a dire situation.

There wouldn't be cheering neighbors carrying us around on their shoulders. The only "thanks" we would receive would to be arrested, cuffed, and thrown into a jail cell while police sorted things out. I don't have so much as a parking ticket in my history...so the last place I am going is jail. Rioters would need to be encroaching pretty close before I gave away my position.

All of us would naturally defend our lives, the lives of our families, and reasonably protect property. At the same time, I would not be driving around in my truck, with armed neighbors in the back, looking for earlybird rioters.
