The federal gasoline tax is 18.4 cpg.

Most of the states have their own taxes higher than that.

if you average all the taxes on a gallon of gas then it’s around 50 cents per gallon in taxes. so then like i said the price of a gallon of gasoline is about $2.00 per gallon not the $2.50 , 50 cents of which is taxes.

my main point is there are too many taxes. we need only 1 tax for all governments
