Please don’t think for a minute these most of these guys and bands were not in it for the money back in the day. I don’t see too many hospitals or charities named after classic rockers or bands.

Let’s face it, Rock and Roll as we knew it is on its deathbed. Just listen to what is on contemporary music radio these days. How can you blame anybody who has the crazy desire for their “old” music to survive to the next generation?

Although it was not nearly as good as the original, large numbers of the audience for the Queen tour were not alive when the real band ended. They had a good time. Why is that a bad thing—because the band earned money? This is supposed to be a capitalist-oriented website!

If more people don’t do something to keep Rock alive, in 5-10 years the whole genre will turn into a niche style like Jazz or “Big Band” music, which were the equivalent of Rock in earlier generations.

Oh I know they were. And I begrudge than none of it. They made a product and we loved it. I just don’t want to see them destroy it. If they do, it’s their legacy, not mine.
