No amount of money can get Robert Plant to reunite with his Led Zeppelin bandmates.
The 66-year-old singer walked away from a 35-date tour that would have paid the rock group nearly $800 million ripping up the contract in front of stunned promoters, the Mirror newspaper reported Sunday.

Saw Page and Plant in Miami back in 96?
Sounded just like they did in the 70s
Bonham kid was on drums
Can’t imagine plant has slowed down that much since then.
He was really good. I like all ACDC. But Back in Black is the one people know and love. It’s Zep 4/Dark Side for AC.
People may disagree about who was ‘best’ and it’s all subjective anyway. But BIB has the sales figures. And most of the songs thought of as ‘classics’.
“Man, those were some good days of music though.”
No.
It was bad.
Bad bad.
The first thing you need is to admit you have a problem...
I can't take Brian's vocals on that, he sounds like Bob Seger on helium.
We saw Heart do Stairway with Jason Bonham live.
I can see GFR blowing them off the stage.
That dude, Peter Grant and cronies were actual thugs. Beating people near to death.
So were Grateful Dead.
Of course the GFR manager was a crook too. Stole millions from those guys.
“Only band worse was Rush. That was was a true castrato.”
Absolutely could not stand Rush lead vox. Heard their recent cover of IFIRC Creams’ “White Room”, nowhere near as unlistenable as Rush. Not bad at all really.
See? Subjective. I think it’s closer to a cat with a turpentine enema. But it worked for the songs! ;)
Thanks. I haven't laughed that hard at a post since I dunno when.
The last time they were together with Jason Bonham at the benefit in London a few years back Plant sounded fine to me. Sure, he can’t hit the high notes as well but that didn’t bother the audience.
I bought the CD/DVD package and I think it’s great.
Watch the dvd from the benefit concert in London they did about 8 years ago. Didn’t miss a beat if you ask me.
But we are now 8 years beyond that.
8 years is a long, long time.
Although they are not much loved around here, some of the old rockers can still put on a good show.
Last week Queen+ Adam Lambert won the Classic Rock Magazine “Band of the Year” award after their sellout tour of North America, Australia and Asia. It did not require a second mortgage on your house to be able to buy tickets:
He can’t sing anymore and he’s pissed
I saw Spirit in a 250 seat bar in Schaumburg IL back in the mid 80s. (I think) They were great.
Especially the later you go in life.
Read where Plant asked for 48 hours to think it over. Tearing up the contract was his response.
Also read where Monty Python turned down 32 million for a world tour including Australia. They say they’re too old.
Sacralige!!! lol
I like Rush.
