“We Were Soldiers” and “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson followed the books closely. Several combat veterans I know answered that the “We Were Soldiers” was the most accurate portrayal of Viet Nam of any movie. The movie about the crucifixion of Christ by Gibson was as close to the Bible as one could get.

I’ve heard it said that survivors of D day left the opening scene of “saving private ryan” shaking and in a cold sweat due to the level of accuracy.
