I truly hope JJ is fracking with us - because otherwise I see the title as just another middle finger from George Lucas to the fans.
That said - I would have preferred something along the lines of:
“Star Wars Episode VII - Democracies Always Commit Suicide
or
“Liberty threatened again”.
Or: “Star Wars Episode VII: The Rise Of Putin - The Old Soviet Empire Never Really Died”
Lucas has nothing to do with this project as he sold to Disney and Kasdan is collaborating on this film.
I won’t object too much to Jar Jar’s love interest, but I will draw the lines at nude scenes, no matter how tastefully shot.
The Jedi will perform some Muslim outreach.
It’s based on Lucas’ “original story” for the sequel trilogy, but I’m sure that was a general outline, not written in stone.
“I have a baaaad feeling about this”.
You may want to brace yourself now, as that image has been in almost all of the current information leaks. It will probably be in the advertising too! Bwhahaha! :)
I’m an old Star Wars geek from ‘77, so I’m worried that ‘The Force Awakens’ sounds suspiciously like a nuanced version of ‘Luke’s Midlife Crisis’. I guess if I can sit through Jar-Jar, I can sit through the intergalactic warfare version of Luke getting a red sports car and hot, young girlfriend. ;)
JJ Abrams?
So will C3PO be dating Chewbacca?
Kasdan did write this one.
DO NOT LIKE.
But there hasn’t been a good Star Wars movie since 1980. Empire is my favorite film of all time...and it’s all been downhill from there.
I’ve beeen part of the original ‘oh golly gee whiz’ group, while studying aircraft interceptor radar maintenance at Lowry AFB, CO., when the FIRST showing of the FIRST Star Wars movies premiered.
After all the loose ends were tied up, and Anakin became Darth Vader, I put all that to rest.
I was never a ‘Star Wars Groupie’, nor a suited up Trekkie.
I had a life.
I was the Assistant Shop Chief of the 35th Avionics Maintenance Squadron’s Calibration Docks, responsible for the calibration and maintenance of the aerial interception radar systems of 80 American fighter aircraft, and two training squadrons of West German Luftwaffe aircraft.
I did, however, believe that ‘my aircraft’ were as capable, and exacting as any of the ‘X’, or ‘Y’ wing aircraft in those movies, because unlike a cinema movie, my aircraft had worn ‘red stars’, in a time and place, before ‘Star Wars’ even began being pieced together.
Well, the good news is that Lucas is not involved with these new movies, so we might actually get a return to form.
“The Force Emerges From Its Cocoon With a Ravenous Hunger For Human Flesh”
He had one of these...
Cute
