Many years back, I recall reading in Gun Digest [I think] when the tribesmen got those Martini-Henry rifles, they raised the rear sights to maximum elevation, with the result their fire went right over the heads of the British. Makes ya wonder...

They’re still doing it. War story from Rhodesia about the terrs setting the sights on RPGs to maximum thinking it made the round go farther/faster. Results same: clean miss.
