Dog shot dead by SWAT team during alleged dispute over neighborhood dog waste
• A small dog was filmed being shot by advancing police officers in Racine, Wisc. on Saturday after police were called about violent threats made by the dog's owner, said a neighbor. Police Chief Art Howell said the owner threatened to kill the officers with an armor-piercing crossbow before setting his dog loose.
A SWAT team sent to handle an alleged neighborhood dispute over dog waste ended up killing the dog, and igniting a firestorm of criticism against the local police force.
In dramatic video capturing the end of Saturday's hours-long standoff involving Racine, Wisc. police, a small dog is seen being shot dead by a line of approaching officers moments after set loose.
Neighbor Kim Polk described the shooting as the result of one irate resident refusing to pick up after his dog when confronted by her, and then violently threatening to kill her own pooch.
It was that threat, first with a bow and arrow and then with a machete, that she said led to her family calling 911 and a SWAT team approaching the man's home.

Which of these officers would you choose to Protect and Serve you? Zero confidence for either one from me. If they can’t protect and serve, why are they on the force. The inability of these officers to use discretion on what a threat might be and how to react should raise concern.

I'm sorry. This is happening every day. We get manipulated into screaming about a phantom disease and phantom terrorists who just happen to spring up on the other side of the world. But if we mention these daily acts of real terrorism right here, we're some kind of nuts who hate police or something.

Hardly a newbie sonny, I have been all over this dog murdering crap since day one. (Check my posting history if you wish). What makes this one beyond terrible is first, the dog was a tiny little guy, no threat to anyone. Second it was going away from the cops. Show us the “dozens” you speak of.

Yep. Been going on for a while now and it is probably gonna get worse. When the cops have to use a little tiny retreating dog for target practice like this last instance, well........
Cops are trigger happy. They practice with their new military jack booted equipment and they’re itching to use it. If they can’t shoot a human they’ll shoot another kind of animal. And typically when one cop fires, the rest of them empty their weapons. I dislike all cops. Why all? Because of the thin blue line.

The running away isn’t that unusual. And one cop even splattered a dachshund (he actually got fired!). Alas, I can’t even remember the most horrible. To me, they all are.
Why is this happening? I’m full of opinions on everything. But, I just can’t imagine why this is happening over and over. It’s like a bad movie.
How in tarnation would you know that? Was it not possible the tiny dog suddenly just ran past, squeezed through the door when opened? This happens all the time.
Was the dog not running away from the cops when shot?

I have not seen the video of the dog being shot....however the swat team responded to a guy threatening to kill people with a machete and a crossbow.

Personal body armor will not stop an arrownor crossbow bolt.
The tiny dog running away from them should have just dropped the crossbow...
