I use to shoot at a sportsman club that had a pistol shoot every month with steel targets from 20 yards to over 100 yards.
The best I ever did out of 25 targets was a 24.
I still have the paper clipping from back in the 1990s when they used to post the results in our local news paper.
I can shoot a 357, 44, 454 and 500 more accurately than a a 22 hand gun.
I love recoil.
I am just the opposite. I can shoot a .22 such as a Colt Woodsman or Ruger Mark I target or a High Standard Victor better than any other type gun.
Probably the best group I ever fired was with an old Colt Official Police trade in. I was using full wadcutters at around 15 yards and that old pistol would put every bullet into the same hole and the hole did not enlarge too much.
The .44 mag and .41 mag are great shooters but I do a little better with the target .22s.
I actually won my gun club’s yearly all comers shoot. I think there were 8 different events and I screwed up and did not write down my score on one section and have my buddy certify it. I ended up not getting the prize even tho I had in fact done the best shooting.
