Sid, Carl lives two doors down from me and the ENTIRE reason he does what he does is because he wants to fuel peoples passions for big cats. He has many, many more variety of cats at his place including leopards and cheetahs, bobcats, panthers and a few smaller kinds I cannot recall the name of. He also has two bears, alligators, lemurs, and breeds of squirrels, raccoons, a wallaby, and I am absolutely sure I have forgotten some. These are not just pets, many are rescues from foolish people who had more money than sense or the animals were abused. If it was not for places like Single Vision most of these animals would be put down. They were NOT ripped from the jungles, all of these animals were born in captivity. You will never meet a bigger animal lover than Carl. I will not say to you what you said to Americans but you really should walk a mile in someones shoes before judging...

(Stoat comment) I admire his passion and what he's done, but I also wonder what's going to happen to all of these beautiful animals after he's been killed or horribly maimed? Will the State then come in and put some or all of them down?
Hopefully his tremendous passion extends to dealing with the ramifications of likely scenarios and his animals will be allowed to continue living where they are, perhaps with different and slightly less 'hands on' caretakers. Such a shame that the Daily Mail article didn't address such obvious questions.
Single Vision doesn't have a fully functional website up yet, but here's where it will be when they get it done:
