I have a 2-year old Maytag dryer. Last week the bulb burned out (came on when you opened the door). Haven’t had the time to check bulb size to replace it but now when I open the door, the dryer does not stop running. Hope this is an easy fix with bulb replacement.
May be a door sensor issue, and not a burned out bulb. If the light stays off and the machine keeps running, it's definitely not getting the right signal somewhere.
