Ordinarily, I’d have preferred to see ex-Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle run again, but Zero took her out of the contest by appointing her to the Consumer Product Safety Commission last year.
Katko’s big problem is that he is being massively outspent. He has $727,000 at last report while Maffei has a whopping $2.4 million. In almost every instance, you can determine the winner of a race based on money.
Exception: Eric Cantor (;
NY-24 could be a toss up , but Maffei has refused to debate his opponent; he even refuses to go on the air via radio or TV .
The same is true of Cuomo (D) , refuses 'on air debate', or even televized; he figures it's 'in the bag' .
The unconstitutional ,misnamed, "SAFE ACT" could affect the election , state-wide, if the 2nd Amendment folks come out in force .
Maffei believes he is secure by not even opening up his mouth as the district has recently, barely voted democRATic .
Hopefully, the electorate is smarter than Maffei; the truth will tell in november .
