Just this morning on my drive in to work, on the radio was a story of a local rape trial. The jury deliberated for an hour after the facts were presented and even if it were true that there was sexual intimacy between the alleged victim, and the accused on the night in question, it was not rape. The accused was found not guilty.

So, now what?

What recourse is there to protect from these sort of insinuations and misrepresentations of fact?

I mean, even if a guy stays celibate... he is open for being completely destroyed by these sociopaths.

Just add it to the list of reasons America needs to become 2 seperate countries. In the meantime, nothing can be done.

Good for the jury.

In most, though not perhaps all, "date rape" cases there is agreement that intercourse took place, so the only question at issue as to whether a crime occurred or not is the consent or not of the female.

What I've never had answered to my satisfaction is how it is possible even in theory to determine beyond a reasonable doubt which of two people is lying, when there is zero evidence other than their testimony.

AFAIK, we just do not convict people on such flimsy evidence for any other crime.
