There were about 4,000 kids in this backyard and it almost felt like a war zone, said Ellery Murray, a sophomore at Keene State. People were just throwing everything they could find -- rocks, skateboards, buckets, pumpkins. It was actually kind of scary.
[Police] were wearing shields and knee-pads and had all these dogs herding people out of the yard into the street, said Murray.
Murray said she was at large house party near the festival early Saturday afternoon when people started lobbing beer bottles and other objects into the crowd.

Que the amber lamps guy.
No, I didn't--it's New Hampshire. Some people will drive a long way for a party -- U of RI is at least 2 hours away, maybe 3.

Keene State = 13th grade.
” Leave those kids alone!”
I still haven’t guessed. Small area, too many young people, alcohol, drugs, noise, and boom..., did I miss something?

or stoned

Wanna be black people.

Keene is a pretty run of the mill state college. It’s not a New England snob fest at all.
Sounds like a lot of the troublemakers were road-trippers.
Just one of the bad things about Facebook and Twitter, IMO. Thousands can be assembled at a spot in pretty short order.
Being a former member of the United States Submarine Service, I can’t ever recall getting drunk. Whistle, whistle, wistle.
‘Free Staters’ capitol of Red Hampshire...
It's unfortunate that something so *hometown* gets out of hand with the influx of too many people. I think the event is wonderful. I'm sure too much alcohol was involved. The *FreeKeene* topless protesters were nowhere to be found.
Darn Libertarians.
The out of state students will return to vote democrat in a couple of weeks...
