Advertisers used to have to accept masculine appeal in shows back then. Nowadays they can and do insist that shows target ‘dumb sluts’.

Actually, one my top favorite Ziv shows is one of its earliest, “Boston Blackie” with Kent Taylor. Hokey and lightweight, but it has that brisk b-movie elan to it, and often featured interesting on-location backdrops for their action-piece finales.
