On just dumbness, there is an awful lot of competition that is to obscure and awful to even make it in reruns. "Me and the Chimp" comes to mind [Mike Reynolds (Ted Bessell) is a dentist who lives with his wife (Anita Gillette), two children (Scott Kolden and Kami Cotler), and a chimp named Buttons, a washout from the space program (though unknown to Mike and his family until an old army sergeant visits).]
THAT was thought of AFTER the failure of "The Hathaways" with Peggy Cass as "mother" to three performing chimps. Peggy Cass?!
