Spiders have claimed ownership of one home in Missouri and turned it into a real-life house of horrors.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that in 2007, Brian and Susan Trost bought a 2,400-square-foot ranch home in Weldon Spring. The home, built in 1988, has golf course views and was purchased for $450,000.
Shortly after taking ownership of the home, the Trosts began to see the spiders.
Everywhere.
In civil trial testimony, Susan claims to have seen live spiders on light fixtures, window blinds, air registers, behind loose wallpaper in the kitchen and in the basement’s bar area. Spider skeletons fell from overhead lights.
Then there was the time Susan was in the shower. She had to dodge a spider that fell from the ceiling. Fortunately, it was washed down the drain.
But the danger became all too real when Susan heard her 4-year-old son screaming. There was a large spider inches from his foot.
Susan soon discovered that the house was infested with brown recluse spiders. While the brown recluse can inflict a painful bite, the venom is not usually fatal.
At the civil trial, an expert estimated that the Trost home contained between 4,500 and 6,500 spiders.

I lived in a drafty apartment by a lake surrounded by pine trees. I had these furry brown spiders invade all the time. My defense was the spray top from the bottle of 409 placed on a bottle of rubbing alcohol. Set the sprayer between “spray” and “stream,” use a bic lighter and you have a really nice flamethrower. The little bastards can build up a resistance to pesticide, but they can’t build up a resistance to flame.
Despite many scorch marks, somehow I got my damage deposit back.
WD 40 works wonders on them. And their eggs.

Don’t think you need to freeze the place, just displace the air in the place with nitrogen for a few days. No more spiders or bugs of any kind.
Wife’s cousin weighs about 85 pounds now and has very little of her pancreas left due to a brown recluse spider bite nearly 6 years ago. I could not tell you just how many times she has been hospitalized and no one would believe just what all this poor woman has been put through. I would have blown my brains out years ago!
Now she’s going into full blown diabetes, after a long drawn out bankruptcy and she doesn’t have much of anything left to fight with. We fear if she gets a bad cold or flu in the near future we will be attending her funeral.
Brown recluse spiders are vile, nasty creatures-much like liberals...
I think I’d BURN that entire house down and all the surrounding area for a 2 mile radius, then build a new spider proof house. I know for a fact I wouldn’t spend one single night under the roof of the present house, treatment or not!
