In this test a higher COP was sacrificed in order to have a stable reaction and simplify the calculations.

Interesting, your choice of words...temperature and COP sacrificed for controllability.... This infers some understood reaction rate, either chemical or nuclear, yet in other places it is claims that scientist do not understand the fundamental science behind the “phenomena”.
