I had a 1968 Charger, and made deliveries in NYC with a Dodge van, both 318 powered with Torqueflites. Those engines and transmissions were virtually indestructible. My dad made the mistake of buying a Chevy Vega at that time. Even though my Charger used twice as much gas, it was actually cheaper to drive because the Vega was such an unreliable a** bucket.
The ‘68 Charger is still one of the best looking cars ever made. When I was 17 I took a hunting trip out west with my father and his buddy who had one with a 440 and the tall rear gears. We cruised at 100-110 most of the time and it just purred along. Hog heaven for a young man!
