Bacon Pancake Dippers
Stepable ^ | undated | Staff

Ingredients

Fluffy Buttermilk Pancakes 12 slices of bacon Maple syrup

Instructions

1. Make the Fluffy Buttermilk Pancake Batter according to directions.

2. Pour the batter into a squeeze bottle with a big enough hole for the batter to pour from, and cut the tip a little bigger so it’s easier to pour.

3. Spray griddle with cooking spray and spray to medium heat, about 300 degrees F.

4. “Draw” the pancake batter in a long oval shape onto the griddle, a tiny bit bigger than your cooked bacon slices—it will expand, so be careful not to make them too large.

Place a slice of cooked bacon in the center of each pancake, and gently press bacon into the batter.

5. Squirt more batter on top of each bacon slice, in a zig-zag pattern, so that you don’t end up overcooking the bacon when it touches the griddle.

6. Cook until the batter bubbles up then flip until golden brown.

7. Serve hot with syrup and butter.

Got me thinkin.

Fry up some nice crispy bacon and dip it in deep fry batter for a quick deep fry to cook the batter.

Good as it sounds, I’d leave out the pancake batter myself.

I’ve made them again more recently and it takes fantastic! The saltiness of bacon gives it a distinct flavour.

Oh for the days of bacon! I don’t eat it or other red/white meat anymore for a few reasons....but I sure don’t mind others enjoying such a treat.

Guess old Moochelle has this 7 days a week. And, not to offend some, but to make a few laugh...Artie Lang.

If I would, I’d have it with about a pound of hash browns with onions! Wash it down with chocolate milk!

It works great with waffles, too - break the bacon up a little, pour half the batter, lay on bacon and batter on top, close waffle iron.

There is a burger place here in Houston that serves chicken-fried-bacon on top of a burger. Christian's Tailgate

Look at the Country Fried Bacon Burger.

Not sure if you already do this, but you can bake the bacon in the oven - less grease and the bacon doesn’t curl up. Perfect for this recipe

It’s a good start, but not nearly enough bacon.

When I was a kid my mother fried pancakes in bacon fat. She fried everything in bacon fat.

Maybe FR can put a little pic of bacon on every page?

Also good: Cheese filled seedless jalapenos wrapped in bacon and baked or grilled.

Bacon is nature’s miracle food. It can even make inedible vegetables like kale palatable!

I do this on Sunday mornings. Praline Bacon Waffles.
