Power draw is up a little.
I have had an iphone 5 (assigned by my employer) for over one year.
It has been kept up-to-date with all software upgrades.
Prior to last week, when i ‘upgraded’ to ios8, it had not locked-up or ‘crashed’ in any way - not even once.
In the last five days the phone completely seized up 6 times - each event requiring a shut-down and ‘reboot’.
I’m starting to suspect Apple subbed out development of ios8 to microsoft...
Tell me about it. I spent the last week reverting iOS 8 back to iOS 7. The new OS made my 3-year old iPad 2 so slow it was unusable. I finally got full functionality restored today.
According to my iPad Air, most of the apps I use have already been updated to improve compatibility with iOS 8.0. I know that Twitter, Facebook, Google Chrome, TuneIn Radio, iHeartRadio, Weather Channel, and a few others I used a lot on my iPad Air are working well in now in iOS 8.0.
So far so good with me.
Lesseehere ... massive wave of changes hitting in mere days, vs a year for the onset of tranquility. ... and people point & taunt because the crash rate temporarily went up 1.3 percentage points.
I upgraded to the 5s last week (yeah, I know- always a model behind ) upgraded to iOS8 a few days later. No problems at all.
First Obama goes to war in Iraq and now this!?..
...dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria!
And the iOS update 8.0.1 is causing the phone to lose all cell connectivity:

Ouch!
Upgraded to ios8 on my 4s. No loss of cellular service but it is noticeably slower on apps.
My Ipad is sloooooooowwwww, locks up, boots me out of apps, doesn’t pinch or expand etc.......POS
Steve would have never let this happen. Tisk, tisk!
