I knew James Gardner growing up as Rockford, and his commercials with Mariette Hartley.

I think he was the kind of actor who had great chemistry with women. He seemed like he was the real deal. He did a western with Suzanne Pleshette I liked

"Support Your Local Gunfighter"

Have you see the prequel, "Support Your Local Sheriff" with Joan Hackett? Really funny, too!

I love “Support Your Local Gunfighter” with Garner and Pleshette. That’s one of my favorite comedy westerns of all time.

Another funny one he made was “How Sweet Is Is!” with Debbie Reynolds-

I love the exchange he has with his liberal, hippy son-

The liberal hippy son says: “Love’s all over the world dad. It protects us all.”

To which Garner correctly responds: “Well, I’ve been all over the world son. Take a gun.”
