Study: Artificial Sweeteners may promote diabetes
Whenever I see the word “may” in a headline, I always read it as “may or may not”.
Always.

The work suggests the sweeteners change the composition of normal, beneficial bacteria in the gut.
Hampering Digestion....and creating an acid environment and the proliferation of the Bad Bacterias in the gut.
Thank you.

Drinks which contained sacharine and nutrasweet used to be labeled for use in person’s diabetic or could not include sugars in their diet for medical reasons only. That changed in the 80’s.

Don’t even get me started on the health benefits of raw milk, which is illegal to sell.

‘...based on their study, which included some human experiments’
So they decided on the study and even included some humans in the study. I smell no agenda there!

The researchers and outside experts said more study is needed, while industry groups called the research limited and said other evidence shows sweeteners are safe and useful for weight control.
...
Read the above statement from the article. Conclusions shouldn’t be made at this point.

Makes sense to me but I am sure there are some multi-billion dollar companies that will disagree.

Don’t forget that not so horribly long ago, margarine was good, butter was bad.
Also, more than one egg a week and you’d die! of cholesterol!!
I’ve long decided that all these food = bad “studies” have everything to do with grant monies and nearly nothing to do with actual science.

The same scientists that can’t decide if eggs are good or bad are the ones predicting global temperatures and sea levels for the next 200 years.

can result in higher blood sugar levelsI'm telling ya --- Dr. Atkins and Gary Taubes were correct about pretty much everything. I know Taubes wrote about artificial sweeteners being part of the weight gain problem. So, now "researchers" have caught up with the two guys that were excoriated for telling us that fat doesn't actually make us fat, and sugar and carbs are the real problems in our Western diet.

"Drinks which contained sacharine and nutrasweet used to be labeled for use in persons diabetic or could not include sugars in their diet for medical reasons only. That changed in the 80s." My husband's aunt is overweight with Type 2 diabetes. She has an ADA book, published recently, which lists diet drinks as a free food. A quick google search confirms it.

Ive long decided that all these food = bad studies have everything to do with grant monies and nearly nothing to do with actual science.I decided to stop listening, years ago. When I read Gary Taubes' book, "Why we get fat", I was actually angry when I finished the book. Why, because it was so obvious that I had been lied to for YEARS, with the approval of the "government watchdog agencies". I believe following the advice that I, and every other American, were told was healthy eating, has completely wrecked my metabolism and my weight only goes in one direction - up; no matter what I eat, no matter what I don't eat.

Let's forget about cane sugar & High Fructose Corn Syrup. Let's look for something else.
