Yes... When I lived in Manhattan for a short while in 1993, I went looking good for them. It was just a clothing store at that point. Most interesting place I found was a place called the Spy Shop, run by South-Africans, accents and all... They sold all sorts of hi-tech spook stuff, including BMW’s with tear gas units under the fenders to disperse attacking rioters. Flame throwers were also an option.

A & F had a very nice outfitters section, 2nd floor, in their San Francisco shop up until the late '70s.
It was a wonderful place with a lot of history and neat things for the well supplied adventurer...or the wannabe adventurer.
However, like the famous San Francisco Gun Exchange, it went the way of political correctness.
Very sad.

p.s....I've also been to the 'Spy Shop'...quite a place.
