I foresee about 5 total employees plus owner at each McDonald’s restaurant.
The employees will be those smart enough and who show enough initiative to learn to maintain and operate the robotics and they’ll make decent money.
Honestly, at 50 years old I might even consider a job at McDonalds if that were to happen.
“The employees will be those smart enough and who show enough initiative to learn to maintain and operate the robotics and theyll make decent money.”
That was my thought too. Automated restaurants aren’t going to doom the $15.00/hr restaurant wage at all. In fact, wages are likely to be higher than that in those kinds of restaurants. However, the number of workers will be only a tiny fraction of those currently working in manual restaurants, so while the wages won’t be doomed, the jobs themselves are doomed.
Basically, the movement for higher unskilled labor wages will simply accelerate the collapse of unskilled labor jobs.
Can’t wait to see the liberals reap what they’ve sown. Socialism has been tried so many times IBM different forms and always fails after people figure out its a racket that makes one group kill themselves working while the other reaps the benefits. It punishes the wrong people.
I’d pretty much agree on a max of five people per shift....just to load the systems, keep them running, and do customer relations. Each will probably get $25 an hour, but require a certificate (one year of robotics study). These low-wage guys, will be dinosaurs in twenty years. It’ll be curious what they fall back to.
