'It's an impossible choice': Mum-to-be must choose between baby or paedophile husband

A mum-to-be who is pregnant with a convicted paedophile’s baby will have to choose between staying with her husband or her child.

The woman, from north Liverpool, is married to a former primary school teacher who was convicted in 2009 of possessing 100,000 indecent images of children.

The couple, who asked not to be named, have been told social services have a “significant and overwhelming concern” about the baby’s safety because of “the sexual risk” posed by the dad.

But Mr X, who served 15 months in prison for the offence, says he has learnt his lesson and should be given a second chance.

The 45-year-old told the Sunday ECHO: “People talk about rehabilitation and getting back into society, I’ve tried doing that and I’m getting treated like I’m a piece of scum.”
