I enjoyed watching the dogs work. the man should have let them finish what they started.

My thoughts too. The owner (assumed) should not have hit nor tried to stop the dogs from catching the attacker. OTOH, law enforcement would have found the man & dogs and taken them from him, only to have the dogs euthanized later. Not a good situation for the dogs all the way around.
