kitteh saying good morning
OR good afternoon, or good night.
Have you had any rain? There’s been a lot here.
There was a porcupine in the backyard the other night. I am glad Knuckles didn’t notice it (or maybe he was wary of it) before we got him inside.
We tried to scare it a little to hopefully keep it out of the yard. Although I’m not too sure it was scared.
Yoiks! The last thing you need is Knuckles’s getting a face full of spines.
Tom and Elen are home from church under their own power, so the purple car is okay for now.
I hate the Fog. It comes in on little cat feet and sits.
Hey! Someone should use that in some prose!!
I like fog. Either for or cats is easier on the corpus than being leaped upon by Kathleen.
FOG.
The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
Carl Sandburg
It was prose! It's supposedly one of his more famous "poems".
(Even though no two words rhyme.)
.
Here's my version:
The Fog
The fog came in so quietly, its purr was rather muted,
It seemed in such a playful mood. The sky was all transluted.
It shrouded all the buildings, and made their edges soft,
And silence filled up everything, until somebody coughed!
The mist absorbed the noise so made, as if so far away,
It could have been an echo from some sound another day.
The fog was curious, looking in, and checking every space,
And nose-to-nose, it rudely rose, and stared in every face!
Playfully, it glided round, and stalked its unseen prey.
And cotton-soft, it crept about, Nights Shadow into Day!
Then finally, a target found! As swiftly as could be,
It coalesced into a cloud, and gave a kiss to me!

Back from more meetings. I think I’ll go lie down with Shannon.
We studied Carl Sandburg in high school sophomore English class. I always liked that poem.
But yours is much more descriptive! Thanks!
Kathleen must be quite the Evil Queen, now. Does she maintain her femininity amongst all those byos?
Oh, yes. She has her curls and her dresses and a toxically high level of Cutesiness.
I’m told I walk like a cat.
I look that messed up?
“Nyerk!”
That’s what Shannon said, as she lumbered her bulk over to the gate blocking the door and telepathically compelled me to lift her over it.
People could learn a lot from observing how Shannon has her minions trained.
The power of a well placed nyerk cannot be understated.
Also the stink-eye and the contemptuous tail-twitch.
If you don't have a tail to swing back and forth, it just isn't the same.
The half closed eyes stating quite clearly: “OBVIOUSLY it is YOUR fault that it is raining!”
Manx have no tail.
They have never forgiven the universe for that oversight.
