I don’t remember hearing him described as a hairdresser before.

Did they have them back then? I thought they would have been called barbers.

Modern re-interpretation? Seems likely - and barbers generally had lots of experience with sharp steel. That fellow with the shop on Fleet Street, for example.

Did you read the entire article at the link? There was a barber as another suspect, but they called Kominski a “hairdresser”
