Wow! Thanks. What I'm getting from the link with my lack of any experience is that the pilot requested to descend to a safer altitude, already feeling effects of hypoxia. It took over 4 minutes for him to get a response clearing him to descend from 25,000 to 10,000, but by then it was too late.
