If he’d been in Texas, he’d be reading this from his easy chair.

Did I read once that Texas law allows one to use deadly force in situations that few,if any,other states allow? I'm almost certain I did.

IIRC, a guy got off after shooting people robbing his neighbor's garage or shed.

What I have heard is that in Texas you can use deadly force to defend the life of another person, not just yourself. But in thinking about this further I would think that might be justifiable anywhere. All I can say is the guy who told me this was a bona fide card carrying communist.

It might surprise you to learn that a private citizen's right to use deadly force in the state of Washington is is equal to or broader than it is in the State of Texas.
