coolest summer in 14 years... never took off the storm windows, or put on the screen door and haven't used the AC once this year

it was in the 40's at night several times in August and leaves are already turning in some places, summer was over Aug 15th this year ~three days early

i am NOT looking forward to this winter at all...

Do you live near Watkins Glen? I drove near there once when I was in Rochester on a business trip and an ice storm in Atlanta made me drive from Rochester to Newark to avoid a 5-day travel delay. It was not mountains like here in Colorado, but seemed nice.
