This is quite a good film. The trailer plays up the romance angle, but the strength of the film lies in the main character's awakening to the reality of Castro's Cuba.

It's a very accurate depiction of many of the aspects of 1990s Cuba - the foreigner-only (hard currency) businesses, the AIDS camps, etc. Definitely worth a look if you can find it. Youtube has a non-subtitled version of the film (in Spanish), for interested FReepers who speak the lingo.

The film came out in 1996, btw. Forgot to mention that.
