We currently import a MASSIVE amount of production from China.

Sure, I do not question the sentiment, but I question HOW you plan to do it -— INCREASES IN TAXATION OF FOREIGN MADE GOODS.
I am unconvinced that it will work to “support” manufacturing in America.
Regulation and taxes due to democrats and Obama (probably some under Bush too but to a lesser extent) are a huge burden on manufacturers in addition to the union thugs that'd get their feet in any new shop (but to a lesser extent nowadays). If we get someone who can reverse that tide along with a will congress (both of them) we might be able to get some back here. But there is always the long term threat that the dems would get back in control and booger it all up again, so it's along shot that we'll get our manufacturing base ever back to where it needs to be.
